Tampa Electric

Tampa Electric has supplied the Tampa Bay area with electricity since 1899. Its West Central Florida service area covers 2,000 square miles, including all of Hillsborough County and parts of Polk, Pasco and Pinellas counties.

Nearly 670,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers depend on Tampa Electric for reliable power and value-added energy services.

The company has nearly 4,000 megawatts of generating capacity and is in the final stages of a 10-year $1.2 billion environmental improvement program, which is dramatically reducing air emissions from its power plants.

Peoples Gas System

Founded in 1895, Peoples Gas is Florida’s largest natural gas distribution company. The company serves nearly 345,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers through more than 9,200 miles of system infrastructure.

With a presence in most of Florida’s major metropolitan areas, and many of Florida’s fastest growing markets, Peoples Gas has added 140,000 new customers since 1997. The company works closely with builders and developers throughout the state to provide the option of efficient and lifestyle-enhancing natural gas appliances.

TECO Coal owns and operates low-sulfur coal mines and handling facilities in Kentucky and Virginia. The company mines and ships almost 9 million tons of coal annually.

TECO Coal's primary customers include the United States and European steel industries, as well as domestic utilities and industrial customers.

TECO Guatemala

TECO GuatemalaTECO Guatemala’s operations include two power plants with long-term sales agreements in Guatemala: the 120-megawatt San José Power Station and the 78-megawatt Alborada Power Station. The San José facility is a pulverized coal-fired power plant located near the town of Masagua, Guatemala. The Alborada station is a simple-cycle facility located in Escuintla, Guatemala.

TECO Guatemala also has an ownership interest in DECA II, which has an interest in Guatemala's largest distribution utility, EEGSA, and affiliated energy-related companies.
